Thank you for your glowing appraisal of what Big Gretch, Jocelyn Benson and Dana Nessel have been able to do here in Michigan....and it is an amazing set of accomplishments. That said, we still have a long, long way to go after years of Republican nonsense. This past June, our SOS published a report, https://www.michigan.gov/sos/-/media/Project/Websites/sos/Elections/Students/State-of-Youth-Voting-Report.pdf that casts a long shadow on all of those accomplishments. Merely getting young folks to register is not nearly enough. For example, in the 2020 general election, roughly 38% of voters aged 18-29 did not vote at all. But in the 2022 election, the one where we re-elected Big Gretch et al, amended Michigan's constitution to preserve reproductive justice, etc., over 1/2 (59%) of that same age group DID NOT VOTE. That amounts to over 1/2 million votes! Remember that Joe Biden won the Great Lake State by 154,000 and Hillary Clinton lost by some 40,000 votes.
Kudos!! We must see a blue wave in November!!! Thank you for sharing this viable path! Now what do we do with spineless republican voters? They want to change their states’ rules and prevent youth from voting…
